What’s on this month?
This month we have two speakers, Rhys Wynne and Kat Reeve
Rhys Wynne – Top Tools for WordPress SEO to use as Well as Yoast Stuff
WordPress SEO by Yoast is – quite rightly – the best plugin to use for managing your site on site optimisation. However there are plenty of other SEO plugins and tools out there that manage different aspects of your site, from fixing dead links to finding out where people link to you. This talk – updated for 2016 – looks at some new plugins and some interesting developments in the world of SEO
Rhys is a WordPress professional in Manchester. Author of bbPress Complete, coder of plugins such as WP Email Capture and blogs at Winwar Media. By day he’s the lead developer of FireCask, a digital marketing agency based in Manchester.
Kat Reeve – Successfully managing a Multisite system
For a food bank charity we put together a complex plan for a WordPress multisite which helped us keep the charity and their over 400 locations all have a web presence. This talk will cover the ups and downs of this complex behemoth and the lessons we learnt from it.
Kathryn is a PHP developer who’s been working for PHP since early in PHP4’s lifespan. Her day to day job keeps her busy with WordPress sites across the range from small to large. Outside of WordPress, she helps run a makerspace, plays board games and watches too much SciFi.

Why not speak at our next event?
We are always looking for folks to come and speak at our events. So if you have an idea for a talk, a discussion or just want to show folks what you have been working on get in touch. You don’t need to be a professional speaker or even to have spoken in a group before. If you don’t want to do a talk, but are interested in hearing about a specific subject, or have an idea/problem then why not also get in touch.
