— Making your first Gutenberg block editable —
In last monthβs talk we ended the session with our first Static Block built. Following on from that talk in this session we are going to take our static block and make all the fields editable. This will include the following:
– Adding new components to the block including text, images and headings
– Using the onChange event
– Extending the functionality of blocks with the block alignment and text alignment toolbar
– Looking at the side panel
– Adding an editable background colour
– Exploring where to find components for blocks
There will be example code you can download and play around with after the talk.

π£ Why not speak at a future event?
We are always looking for people to come and speak at our events. So if you have an idea for a talk, a discussion or just want to show folks what you have been working on, please get in touch. You don’t need to be a professional speaker or even to have spoken in a group before.
βRequest a talk
If you don’t want to do a talk, but are interested in hearing about a specific subject, or have an idea/problem, please get in touch and we will try and find someone who can help.
