WooCommerce Special – November 2016

Date: 22nd November, 18:00
Location: Futurelabs. 1 Eastgate, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS2 7LY

What’s on this month?

This month we have a WooCommerce special, with two talks from specialist Dave Green. Dave will be doing two talks, one for store owners who want to get started using WooCommerce, and one for developers who want to build WooCommerce sites for clients.

How to Start Selling with WooCommerce

WooCommerce empowers you to get up and selling goods and services online, fast. So, after a brief introduction to the history, features and benefits of WooCommerce, Dave will demonstrate how you can go from having a brand-new WordPress install to a fully functional online store complete with a handful of products in next to no time.

The session will cover installing and configuring both WooCommerce and its official “Storefront” theme, creating products, configuring tax & shipping, creating discount coupons, hooking up a payment gateway and more.

An Introduction to WooCommerce Development

Whether you’re a client-facing WordPress developer keen to add another string to your bow, a code-savvy entrepreneur looking to build an online store to sell your Next Big Idea, or you find yourself presented with the challenge of implementing an eCommerce solution within your organisation, this talk is for you.

Over the course of 40 minutes Dave will introduce you to the key aspects of WooCommerce development, talk about some of the choices, challenges and issues you’ll face from his own personal experience and will share some advice along with details of useful plugins and resources that help to get the job done.

Want to speak at one of our future events?

We are always looking for people to come and speak at our events. So if you have an idea for a talk, a discussion or just want to show folks what you have been working on, get in touch. You don’t need to be a professional speaker or even to have spoken in a group before.

If you don’t want to do a talk, but are interested in hearing about a specific subject, or have an idea/problem, get in touch and we will try and find someone who can help.
